About Us

The U-15 SYC Boca (rising U-16 for Fall 2010) began competition as a travel team only five years ago, at the U-11 age level. Although a relatively young travel team, Boca has advanced through ODSL and NCSL divisions each season to their current position in Div. 1 NCSL. The team boasts a dynamic, attacking style of play, utilizing strong possession skills as well as skillful individual technique in developing an approach to the game that is exciting and fun to watch.

SYC Boca is led by coaches Nick Arzani and Kevin O'Donnell. Coach Nick oversees the year round training program which focuses on the ongoing development of individual skills and continued enhancement of the player's knowledge of the game. Coach Nick played professionally with the world famous Club Atletico Boca Juniors in Argentina, and holds an Argentine coaching license equivalent to a USSF Class A license. Coach Kevin shares training and game day responsibilities and orchestrates the management of the team in its many and varied activities. Coach Kevin has 10 years of coaching experience and holds a USSF C License.

SYC Boca boast a strong nucleus of players who share a passion for the game and a true desire to further their individual development as well as their team goals. The team trains year round, with practice facilities adjacent to the Fairfax County Parkway and I-95. SYC Boca participate in NCSL play in Spring and Fall and Winter league play, both indoors and out. Boca play in an average of 8 to 12 premier level tournaments and College Showcases per year, both locally and regionally, along the East Coast.
